Most solar energy solutions can be categorized as Solar Electric or Solar Thermal. In brief, Solar Electric uses Photovoltaic (PV) modules, shingles or laminates to convert photos from the suns rays into electricity. Solar Thermal captures heat from the suns rays and is circulated for use in space, domestic water or pool heating.

This is most commonly done with flat plate collectors. While Solar Electric will power anything that uses household current (AC). Solar Thermal uses it's heat from the collectors to heat floors (Radiant Flooring), Radiator systems, Domestic Water or Pool water. We also offer Natural Light Solar Attic Fans and Solar water pumping.

Solar water heaters and systems are a very efficient way to use solar energy. Heating water is one of the biggest contributors to your electrical bill. By providing up to 80% of your annual hot water needs, you can experience a return on your investment in a very few years.

Our water heaters are normally two tank systems; one tank being the solar storage and the other being a reserve, to assure you never run out of hot water. Solar water heating systems circulate a heat transfer fluid throug a thermal collector which absorbs the sun's energy. It is then circulated to a heat exchanger where it heats potable water to your desired temperature.

Solar Electric systems use your choice of PV modules, shingles or laminates to convert the suns rays into DV electricity. The sun's energy can then be stored in deep-cycle batteries as back-up power. We can even upgrade your system to a Gridpoint connect which manages your entire renewable energy load.

After the batteries are full, or if you choose to not use batteries, the current is sent directly through and inverter which converts it from DC current to AC (household current). It is then tied to your main power panel and either powers your household or is sent to the grid. Locations vary, and you may require off grid (independent) Solar electricity, which stores all excess power in backup batteries for use when the sun goes down. It is very important to size your system for all power consumption with this application. All Solar Electric Systems qualify for various financial incentives.
